2024 SD 50 Republicans Convention Call

Pursuant to the provisions of the Constitution of the Republican Party of Minnesota, the Senate District 50 Convention is hereby called to meet:

Registration is open from 9:00 AM to 10:15 AM
Convention convenes at 10:00 AM

The Senate District 50 Endorsing Convention shall be composed of the delegates and alternates elected at the precinct caucuses in February of 2024 currently living within the boundaries of House Districts 50A and 50B. If you are no longer living in House District 50A or 50B, please let us know.
The Senate District Convention shall be held for the purpose of:
- Consideration of endorsement of candidates for MN House District 50A, and House District 50B
- Report of candidates by Nomination Committee which met on March 21, 2024, and Election of Delegates, First Alternates, and Second Alternates to the Third Congressional District Convention and the Fifth Congressional District Convention
- Report by the Nomination Committee which met on March 21, 2024, & Election of Delegates, First Alternates, and Second Alternates to the Republican Party of Minnesota State Convention
- Presentation of the SD50 Executive Committee Strategic Plan
- Consideration for adoption of Resolutions Passed by our February, 2024 Republican Precinct Caucuses
- Transaction of such other business as may properly come before the convention
We will be posting convention agenda and rules on the 2024 Convention page on our website on or about April 9. Check out the material on that page to prepare for the convention.
Delegates and Alternates: The pre-registration fee (received by Wednesday, April 9, 2024) is $20. After April 9, 2024, registration will cost $30.
Guests/Observers: Guests & Observers are welcome and invited to attend. The pre-registration fee (received by Wednesday, April 9, 2024) is $15. Payments after that date and taken at the door will be $25.

You may also RSVP by emailing or calling Sarah Knapp ([email protected]; 952-592-8758) by April 12 and pay at the door of the convention. Payments by cash, check or credit card will be accepted at the door.
Coffee, water, and light snacks will be offered in the morning. If needed, we will stop for a lunch break.
NOTE: If you wish to be considered for endorsement as a candidate for either Minnesota House District 50A or 50B, and you have not already been interviewed by the SD50 Candidate Search Committee, please Contact Teri Hovanec at [email protected] or 952-592-8758 on or before Thursday, April 10, 2024. By our bylaws and convention rules, interviews with candidates must take place prior to the convention. If contacted by April 10, 2024, Teri will schedule a time for interviews with the Candidate Search committee as required prior to the convention.

*SD50 Republicans does not want the cost of the convention to be a barrier of entry to any delegate or alternate. Please contact Sarah Knapp at [email protected] in confidence should you need financial assistance to attend. We have kept fees as low as possible and are used to offset the cost of facility, materials, & refreshments for the event. Additional donations at the event are welcome. You may request a PCR form to have the cost of the convention and up to $75. per individual reimbursed to you by the state. See our website at www.sd50gop.com for details.
