Twila Brase, president and co-founder of the Citizens Council for Health Freedom​, will describe their efforts at the Minnesota state legislature to protect Minnesota’s strongest-in-the-nation medical privacy law, oppose a proposed tax on medication and oppose a taxpayer-funded health care commission pushed by the industry. She will also discuss CCHF’s efforts in Washington, D.C. to restore affordable coverage options and to build an escape hatch from the unsustainable Medicare program. Lastly, she will comment on her upcoming book, “Big Brother in the Exam Room."

In addition, two delegates and two alternates will be elected to the state convention June 1 and 2 in Duluth. Each of the four seniors who are interested in running will speak for one minute, followed by a written, secret ballot. The two who receive the most votes will be delegates and the others will be alternates.

Beginning with our January meeting, members pay $5 to attend and non-members pay $10. Dues for the remainder of 2018 are $15 per person or $22.50 per couple. If you attend four of the remaining seven meetings (we don't meet in July) you will save money by becoming a member. The fee per meeting includes a selection of beverages and small bagged snacks and helps us defray the cost of the room.
