Register to Vote

Check your registration -- See if you are registered at your current address.

If you need to register, you may register online or when you go to vote.

Before you begin to register online:

  • You will need an email address.  Use a paper application if you don't have one.
  • You will need your Minnesota driver’s license or Minnesota identification card number.  If you don't have one of these, you may use the last four digits of your Social Security number.  If you don't have either of these, use a paper application.
  • If you are a participant in Minnesota’s Safe at Home address confidentiality program, do not register to vote or update your registration online.  Contact Safe at Home at 1-866-723-3035.

Register by Mail: You may register on paper by mail.  Be aware that registration temporarily closes 20 days before the election, and opens again on Election Day for voters who register at their polling place.
