LEWIS, HOWE AND MILLER VIE FOR SECOND CONGRESSIONAL DISTRICT GOP ENDORSEMENT MARCH 12 AT FORUM IN MENDOTA HEIGHTS

Mitch Berg, Patriot 1280 radio personality and blogger, will moderate debate at Metro Republican Women’s monthly meeting  

Candidates for the Republican endorsement for Congress in the Second Congressional District, John Howe, Jason Lewis, and Darlene Miller, will compete in a forum sponsored by Metro Republican Women Saturday, March 12, in Mendota Heights.  The candidates are seeking to fill the seat Representative John Kline, who is retiring after six terms.  A fourth candidate, David Gerson, declined to participate. 

“We expect to see a lively and informative exchange of views from the candidates at this meeting,” said Margaret Flower, the president of MRW.  “We hope this event will help us choose the best candidate to continue to uphold Republican principles and serve with the distinction and judgment of Congressman Kline.” 

The March 12 event begins with registration at 8:00 a.m. (30 minutes earlier than usual) with buffet breakfast served at 8:15 and the program at 8:30 at Mendakota Country Club,  2075 Mendakota Drive in Mendota Heights.  The cost is $18 for members, $20 for non-members and $10 for students.  Walk-ins are welcome but reservations are encouraged.  Go to metrogopwomen.org to pay online or to make a reservation and pay at the door.  RSVP by Tuesday, March 8.

Metro Republican Women www.metrogopwomen.org has provided quality education on Republican political issues for the past 35 years.  It is part of the Minnesota Federation of Republican Women and National Federation of Republican Women.  With 100 current members, Metro Republican Women is the largest and most active club in the Minnesota.  Known for monthly speakers addressing challenging political topics of the day, the club has been recognized for its outreach to military families, concern for literacy issues and for providing assistance to women who are returning to the workforce.
